Glimmers are the opposite of psychological triggers. They are internal and external experiences that give us a sense of safety and joy.

According to the polyvagal theory, experiencing glimmers can help the nervous system regulate itself.

Glimmers might include:

Hearing birdsong. The smell of rain. Sunsets. Crunchy leaves. Stargazing. The sound of waves. A scent you love. Golden hour. Walking in a rainforest.

What is a glimmer?

I acknowledge that I live and work on the un-ceded lands of the Traditional Owners of this region, the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, and pay utmost respect to Elders past and present.

Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
